Job Summary

The Maintenance Support Pilot - Rotor Wing will be primarily assigned to this Maintenance Facility to perform pre-induction maintenance flights, post maintenance flights, ground runs and ferry flights as directed by maintenance planning and maintenance leadership. Responsible for ensuring aircraft are airworthy and weather conditions are appropriate to conduct maintenance operational flights and repositioning ferry flights.  Responsible for briefing and/or supervising all associated personnel in aircraft operations as applicable.  Ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) as applicable, and a thorough knowledge of Air Methods policies and procedures. Responsible for ensuring Air Methods aircraft are returned to revenue service fully operational, and capable of performing the air medical mission in accordance with OEM guidelines and supplemental type certificates.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:

• Reports to duty at their assigned facility, unless otherwise directed.
• Complies with PIC duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Air Methods GOM.
• Operates all assigned aircraft in a safe and legal manner at all times (100%).
• Perform Aircraft preservation ground runs.
• Perform Aircraft post maintenance ground runs.
• Completes pre-flight before every flight verifying the aircraft is in an airworthy condition. Perform a complete walk around of the aircraft prior to entering the cockpit for flight and upon completion of each flight.
• Perform Aircraft post maintenance operational flights for RTS (Return To Service) per OEM and regulatory requirements
• Ferry aircraft as directed.
• Responsible for ensuring all aircraft systems and installed equipment are airworthy and operationally functional when released for revenue service.
• Final authority with regard to operations of aircraft and for the safety of crew, passengers, cargo and equipment.
• Responsible for completion of required documentation.
• Able to conduct detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standard

Additional Job Requirements
• Schedule: Primarily Mon-Fri (8 hrs); 5 days on, 2 days off.  
• Percentage of time spent traveling: >50%

Qualifications

Visual Flight Requirements (VFR)

• 1200 hours total time
• 500 hours PIC in category
• 500 hours turbine time
• 100 hours of cross-country flight time, at least 25 hours of which were at night
• 50 hours actual or simulated instrument time in flight and in category

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating or ATP: Rotorcraft, Helicopter
• Current Class I or II medical certificate
• Preferred Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate

Skills

• Capable of maintaining qualification in multiple aircraft
Computer Skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
• 2-5 years of related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred)
• Previous experience in dedicated maintenance support, or as production or post-maintenance test pilot preferred
• Previous Part 135 experience preferred

Pay Range

USD $81,525.00 - USD $122,250.00 /Yr.
